AYCW Updates

Hello all,

This week has been yet another exciting week for me and my campaign on campus. Here are a few important updates:

1. I met with Dr. Hope, the Director of Professional and Personal Ethics at CMU this past week. She was VERY interested in helping me with my program. She has offered to help me in the following ways:
•To have me write out a blurb on AYCW, and she will put it in the CMU Red Book, which is CMU's "Student Code of Ethics". 15,000 of these are printed each semester, and they are handed out to every single freshman that comes to CMU. This is a great way for students to be introduced to AYCW!
•She has also offered to give me a page on the CMU Ethics website. I asked for her to give me the numbers regarding the frequency of visitors to her page, so I will have those soon. This is another easy but good opportunity to get my name out there.
•She has even offered to have me appear twice on her weekly radio show. It is an internet radio show that streams live all over the world. She said that people from London and the Middle East call in all of the time! It is every Tuesday, but it is also merged into the student radio station we have on campus every Sunday. We talked about the radio show and decided that my first appearance would be me basically introducing myself and the program, and the second appearance I could go more in depth and give more details, or even give a part of my presentation.

2. I was finally published in my school newspaper called CM-Life. Here is a link to the article written about my AYCW campaign:

3. This past week, I have given 6 presentations to Tammie Fogal’s FYE classes. She was so impressed with them that she actually asked me if she could do a video endorsement that I could send to you guys. So here it is:

A few students in her class also expressed their feelings about the presentations I gave to them. Here are these videos:

  1. Love the second video :)

Impressive endorsement from Tammie Fogal, impressive article, and impressive results from your partnership with Dr. Hope. Like I said in my email, I'm happy to provide tailored talking points for your radio interviews - otherwise the "Talking Points for Media Interviews" in Google docs should be a good start. Great work!
