Hello all! The end of the semester is nearing, so I would like to take this opportunity to write out all of the goals I have for the next month, and how I am going to achieve them. So, here they are:
1. Plan a panel discussion with RHD John Johnstin at my University Center the third week of November.
What i have done for this goal: I have been in contact with John Johnstin and CMU Dean, Bruce Roscoe about venues, structure, audience, and promotion.
Next steps: follow up with companies I am asking to join my panel by this Friday, November 5th.
2. Media Relations: Secure media attendance at my panel discussion.
Next steps: contact The Morning Sun and Detroit Free Press when the date for event is secured.
3. Film the AYCW module for CMU with Jason Bentley:
What I have done for this goal: e-mailed Jason Bentley, who is out until November 8th.
Next steps: meet with Jason, write the remainder of the scripts, film.
4. Write an Op-Ed and get it placed in CM Life OR The Morning Sun.
What I have done for this goal: Wrote the Op-Ed, searched CMU news for an opportunity to publish it in CM Life.
Next Steps: Have Jenna edit it, contact representative from CM Life.
5. Have an "Are You Credit Wise" Day in the dorms which will feature a Q and A table all day in the dorm and then a small panel discussion in the evening.
What I have done for this goal: Contacted Caitlin Wozniak, Resident Assistant of Cobb Hall at CMU regarding this event.
Next Steps: Secure date and time. Contact Towers to see if I can have a table in the dorms.
6. Secure a partnership with a state official. I would like to co-author an Op-Ed for a financial magazine.
Next steps: talk to Jenna more about this, contact official after elections.
This will be a very busy month, but I think I can pull this off! Best of luck to everyone else!

ReplyDeleteNicole is right - lofty goals, but you're executing them well! We've spoken more recently about your upcoming panel event, so I won't comment on that here. A few other things to note:
- Definitely keep the video module a priority. I know Jason is hard to get a hold of, but let's keep following up. Would be great to have at least the first one in time for the January event.
- On reaching out to media for your upcoming panel event: be sure to get any pitches approved by me before you go out.
- I'll talk to Tom about reaching out to an elected official again today. We may just reserve this for your January event, but it may be good to try to meet with them first.
