Hello all! The end of the semester is nearing, so I would like to take this opportunity to write out all of the goals I have for the next month, and how I am going to achieve them. So, here they are:
1. Plan a panel discussion with RHD John Johnstin at my University Center the third week of November.
What i have done for this goal: I have been in contact with John Johnstin and CMU Dean, Bruce Roscoe about venues, structure, audience, and promotion.
Next steps: follow up with companies I am asking to join my panel by this Friday, November 5th.
2. Media Relations: Secure media attendance at my panel discussion.
Next steps: contact The Morning Sun and Detroit Free Press when the date for event is secured.
3. Film the AYCW module for CMU with Jason Bentley:
What I have done for this goal: e-mailed Jason Bentley, who is out until November 8th.
Next steps: meet with Jason, write the remainder of the scripts, film.
4. Write an Op-Ed and get it placed in CM Life OR The Morning Sun.
What I have done for this goal: Wrote the Op-Ed, searched CMU news for an opportunity to publish it in CM Life.
Next Steps: Have Jenna edit it, contact representative from CM Life.
5. Have an "Are You Credit Wise" Day in the dorms which will feature a Q and A table all day in the dorm and then a small panel discussion in the evening.
What I have done for this goal: Contacted Caitlin Wozniak, Resident Assistant of Cobb Hall at CMU regarding this event.
Next Steps: Secure date and time. Contact Towers to see if I can have a table in the dorms.
6. Secure a partnership with a state official. I would like to co-author an Op-Ed for a financial magazine.
Next steps: talk to Jenna more about this, contact official after elections.
This will be a very busy month, but I think I can pull this off! Best of luck to everyone else!
